Hillsborough Kids Strategic Plan 2012 - 2015

Family Finding Model

Hillsborough Kids received a two year grant in November 2010 to implement a Family Finding practice model. This model represents a significant shift in the way we do things for the children and families in our system of care.

Our goal is to ensure the child's well being both now and in the future. Family Finding builds a team of family members and caring adults who have an active role and voice in the child's care and will provide a lifetime support network. This team, alongside case management and the courts, will be tasked with making decisions together regarding the child's best interest. Some of the team members could be biological or adoptive family members, teachers, coaches, family friends, etc. We believe family connections are vital for the long term stability and support of the children we serve.
