Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families
Sylvia Thomas Center provides resources to adoptive and foster parents, adopted children and all who touch their lives. Services include case management for adoptive families in crisis, support groups for parents and adopted teens, and a Kidz Club for adopted kids in elementary school and the biological kids in their homes. In addition, the Sylvia Thomas Center Training Institute offers adoption competency training to anyone who touches the life of an adopted child. All programs have one thing in common: they are designed to put the “forever” in forever families.
SylviaThomasCenter.org contains articles on sibling relationships and attachment issues, advice from experts and staff, and a comprehensive, searchable Resource Guide to help adoptive parents find specially trained professionals to meet their adopted child's needs. Their extensive list of resources includes Medicaid providers, adoption competent providers, tutors, respite services, support groups, advocacy advisors, legal service professionals, and resources for professional training. |
