The Children's Justice Center (CJC) is a "child-friendly" environment, where partners provide comprehensive services to child abuse victims, as well as provide a safe haven for families to visit together while civil or criminal proceedings are pending resolution before the court. The "child-friendly" facility is essential to the success of CJC, as it offers a neutral and secure atmosphere where children can feel not only comfortable and safe but also protected from the re-traumatization that could occur when numerous professionals are involved in court cases. The CJC consists of three components:
- Children's Advocacy Center provides video taped forensic interview services for law enforcement and the child protective service agency
- Supervised Visitation Program provides a safe and neutral environment for children to maintain contact with a parent amidst allegations that safety could be jeopardized
- Community Outreach Program provides child abuse prevention information to parents and specialized training for staff and other professionals who utilize the services of CJC
