The Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families, Inc. is a community-based, parent-driven organization that provides services and supports to meet the identified needs of foster children and the families that adopt and foster them. Supporting adoptive and foster families will promote permanency for children previously and currently in out-of-home care.
The Sylvia Thomas Center serves as a drop-in support and resource center for adoptive and foster families. Parents are encouraged to stop in to access support and educational resources, as well as to network with other families. Scheduled trainings, support groups, respite, and other special events are also available for children and families. The Adoption Support Connection is a specialized program housed at the center and is available for post-adoptive families in need of intensive case management.
