Hillsborough Kids believes family needs can best be met within the community through local and accessible resources.  Hillsborough County has many such resources available to help families in a time of need:

Children 1st Response Team
The Children 1st Response Team (CRT) provides help to families in cases where abuse and neglect are suspected but not confirmed. Child Protective Investigators in Hillsborough County refer high risk cases to CRT for counseling and crisis intervention. Website

Children's Justice Center
The Children's Justice Center (CJC) is a "child-friendly" environment, where partners provide comprehensive services to child abuse victims, as well as provide a safe haven for families to visit together while civil or criminal proceedings are pending resolution before the court. Website

Florida Kinship Center
Kinship care is the full-time care and nurturing of a child by a relative. According to the Year 2000 Census, relatives are raising over 345,000 children in Florida, nearly 10% of the state's child population. To respond to the needs of and issues facing these families. Website

Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families, Inc.
The Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families, Inc. is a community-based, parent-driven organization that provides services and supports to meet the identified needs of foster children and the families that adopt and foster them. Website
