Getting Started

Once you have made the decision to begin the process to becoming a foster parent, you will attend an Orientation and provide information to Hillsborough Kids so clearances can be obtained. Because Fostering is a position of trust, thorough background screening is required for all potential caregivers. Satisfactory clearances are required as a prerequisite for participants enrolling in the foster parent pre-service training. As such, prospective foster parents are asked to submit the Screening Packet as detailed at right.

Upon the receipt of approved clearances, a representative from Hillsborough Kids will contact you to discuss enrollment in Foster Parent Pre-Service Training.
