Positive Support for Parents in Neighborhoods (+SPiN)
+SPiN is a family development program of the University Area Community Development Corporation, Inc. The project’s goal is to strengthen the natural support systems of a family unit in an effort to enhance family safety. The vision of the project is that all children will have continuous positive relationships with consistently attentive and caring adults who value them as special.
+SPiN serves hundreds of vulnerable children and their families each year through the following services: (1) family counseling, (2) school advocacy, (3) housing assistance, (4) child care support, (5) training and job placement assistance, emergency food and utility assistance, furniture and clothing and transportation. Additionally, UACDC’s +SPiN hosts other support groups that empower participants, including, Girls & Boys Activities Clubs, Neighborhood Improvement, Leadership Training , Women’s Support Group and Training Resources.
